The International Citizen of the Year Award was established in 1985 to honor an individual who has made a significant contribution toward increasing awareness of global issues and the growth of San Antonio’s importance as an international city. This very prestigious award is presented annually at a black tie dinner. It is the Council’s largest and most important event.
