Manuel has worked extensively in tax planning, consulting and compliance and in the structuring of the business and personal interests of non-resident alien individuals and foreign corporations in the United States. Manuel is bilingual and on numerous occasions has spoken on tax topics to business and professional delegations in both Mexico and in the U.S.
Manuel has been practicing public accounting since he graduated from Trinity University in 1974. His career began with a large national firm and then became one of the firm’s original members upon its inception in 1980 and has been a shareholder up until his retirement in December 2016. Up through 2010 Manuel was in charge of the firm’s Financial Accounting and Auditing practice. In 2009 Manuel was one of only two citizens asked to serve on the City’s Audit Committee by the then mayor of San Antonio. He has also served on board of directors of numerous civic, cultural and charitable organizations, including the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, Centro Alameda, The Child Guidance Center, Free Trade Alliance of San Antonio and The Asociación de Empresarios Mexicanos.
